Android OS strengthened its leadership in the global smartphone market. In nine countries – the U.S., the UK, Spain, Japan, Italy, Germany, France, China and Australia – running Google’s mobile platform employed an average of 64.2% of smartphones sold. This is stated in the report of Kantar Worldpanel ComTech for the I quarter of 2013.
Kantar data are based on 240 surveys thousands of customers in the U.S. and about 1 million in Europe, which are held annually. The company’s analysts believe that, thanks to the flagship, novelties, such as the Galaxy S IV from Samsung and HTC One, Android’s share in the future will only grow.
