Microsoft is in talks with HTC to equip the Android-smartphone operating system Windows - Bloomberg - ITAR-TASS

MOSCOW, October 4. / ITAR-TASS /. Microsoft is in talks with HTC to equip its second Android-smartphone OS / OS / – Windows. This was reported by Bloomberg, citing its own sources.

Terry Myerson, head of the technical team at Microsoft operating systems, last month appealed to the Taiwan-based HTC to offer load on her mobile phone to Windows as a second operating system along with Android from Google. According to agency sources, Microsoft proposes to reduce or completely abandon the license fee for the OS, which should make the company more attractive offer. Negotiations are at an early stage and no decision has yet been taken, the agency said two sources familiar with the situation.

HTC – the first electronics manufacturer, which started production of the device as the OS Android, and on Windows. Last time the company introduced the machine to the operating system from Microsoft in June and is no longer planning to do this, I’m sure one of the sources of Bloomberg.

According to market research firm Strategy Analytics in August 2013, the share of the Android operating system in the global smartphone market is 80 percent. Second place goes to iOS from Apple / 14 percent / and the third – Microsoft with a share of 4 percent.
