Samsung introduced the Android-camera GALAXY Camera 2 - 3DNews

Shortly before the opening of the international exhibition CES 2014 in Las Vegas, Samsung Electronics has officially announced the release of a compact digital camera GALAXY Camera 2 (GC2), running under the operating system Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean) with a proprietary user interface TouchWiz.

New weighing 283 g (with battery capacity of 2000 mAh) is available in two color versions housing with dimensions of 133 x 71 x 19 mm. The device is based on a quad-core Exynos processor with a clock speed of 1.6 GHz, equipped with 1/2 ,3-inch BSI-CMOS sensor with dimensions 6,17 x 4,55 mm and an effective resolution of 16 megapixels, and also has a lens with a 21 – x optical zoom, working in a range of 23 to 483 mm (35 mm equivalent). Sensitivity index can be adjusted from 100 to 3200 ISO. Built-in xenon flash can operate in five modes.

Touch LCD HD Super Clear Touch Display with a diagonal of 4.8 inches has a resolution of 1,036,800 pixels, supports Live View, as well as with features Touch AF and Touch Shutter. The user has six white balance settings, 28 preset scene modes, as well as a new mode of Smart Mode Selfie Alarm opportunities for creating high-quality self-portraits. Maximum resolution from JPEG-images up to 4608 x 3456 pixels. Video recording with Full HD-resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels at 30 frames per second in the following format MPEG-4/H.264 with stereo sound. All the footage is saved to either the internal flash memory (8GB of envisaged for this 2.8 GB available) or on removable storage standard microSD / SDHC / SDXC. In addition, in the arsenal of the model present USB 2.0 and HDMI, modules Wi-Fi 802.11a/b/g/n and Bluetooth 4.0, NFC chip and integrated GPS / GLONASS-receiver.

The price and timing of the start of sales of the above product developers have not provided any information.

Finally it should be noted that in comparison with previously presented first-generation model, GALAXY Camera 2 boasts of having a more powerful CPU (dual core vs quad), twice the amount of internal memory, more capacious rechargeable battery (the predecessor battery has a capacity of 1650 mAh h) and a “fresh” version of the Android, and also includes support for NFC wireless technology and improved design of the cabinet.
